Why do I want to make music so bad/how do I start?

If you really want to do it (or literally have to do it) that’s good. That means you may have a passion for it. The bad news is while passion will keep you engaged with music or at least your instrument it doesn’t guarantee you will be gifted in the creative department. Many musicians are gifted at their craft of playing the instrument but not songwriting and vice-versa. That’s how it’s been most of the time with my songwriting partner. He is more gifted at coming up with a song and the great lyrics. I am more gifted as a great musician and arranging/coloring his ideas.

I've been singing for years so It's definitely been a transition trying to create rather than just proform, but i'm hoping I can stick with it, even when it gets even more frustrating, because I know music is something I need in my life. Thank you

I have definitely saved/put away my fair share of under developed writing , and it can definitely be discouraging only outputting things you find "bad" or "unworthy", but thank you for these kind words <3
