My Spyro reignited trilogy save file is not working

I played for a few hours yesterday and reopened the game to find it didn’t save for most of play thru. The game has an auto save feature for every dragon you save and I can even see achievements in my steam profile from much farther into the game than it saved. The other odd thing is that my steam profile keeps alternating between saying I’ve played the game for 20 minutes or I’ve played the game for four hours. I don’t want to replay the game just to turn it off and have it happen again. I made it about 40% thru and I saw that on the in game menu the other day but now it says 8%. Anyone have this issue and figured out how to fix it?
