Was anyone else left confused by The Old Man? (Spoilers)
I finished The Old Man last night and I'm left with a sense of confusion more than anything else. My confusions:
- Is Dan Chase the antagonist? It feels like the show frames him as the protagonist, but he's running around murdering people of questionable "badness" the entire time, screwing over Faraz Hamzad, kidnapping Angela from Faraz Hamzad, and making Angela's life incredibly difficult.
- What the hell is Morgan Bote supposed to be? He's framed as a secondary antagonist, but his motivations nor intentions are clear. He just seems more like an agent of chaos in the story.
- Morgan Bote is Dan Chase and Harold Harper's father? Dan Chase and Harold Harper are brothers? The diner scene left me with a lot of confusion. Morgan Bote seems to imply that he is their father, or at least a father figure to both of them, but this isn't really expanded on or explained at all. It doesn't seem like he's their legitimate biological father by the way that he says things, but it's also not obvious that he means father like the Harold/Angela relationship.
- Is there anything that actually points to Faraz Hamzad being a evil guy at all?
Am I just missing something here, or is anyone else confused by this show?
