So what's the best way to defeat miraak?

I'm currently using the mace that that saps souls if the whatever your killing dies within three seconds. A steel shield, the iron Armour of health, the ring of namira, steel boots and idek what bottoms. With a Dwarven helmet. I can't finish the skaal Smith quest without it.
