Hardest part about sewing is figuring out what to do?

Maybe this is obvious, but I find that the thing I struggle with most when sewing is not so much doing the thing but figuring out what I’m supposed to be doing based on written directions and confusing diagrams. Maybe it’s just me, but I find myself reading directions over and over and comparing them to diagrams over and over and still often times doing it backwards, upside down, or inside out. I love sewing very much and I’m realizing how much I would probably benefit from an in person class. I’m not great at class learning, I get bored quickly and like to do things at my own pace, but I’m thinking this would be very beneficial. Does anyone else have this experience?
