Has OLED has ruined cinema?
I bought an OLED tv in the last few months and have been loving watching stuff in really nice 4k HDR quality for the most part.
Now whenever I got to the cinema all dark scenes appear so washed out to me that I can hardly see them. Projection just can't compare to the dynamic range in an OLED with HDR.
I love going to the cinema and all that the experience entails but I've now started to question whether the ticket price is worth it when I get such a better image at home. It used to be the case that cinema image quality was part of the drawcard of going. The only reason to stay home was for convenience. But now the benefits are starting to dwindle for cinemas.
Am I the only one experiencing this? Maybe my local cinema just sucks?
