BamBam created something truly magical with his new album.
Hi everyone, I'm here with an appreciation post about BamBam's new album, Bamesis.
I've never followed his career closely, all I knew was that he's a GOT7 member and I've heard 2 songs of his a few times. So I went into this album with no expectations.
This album blew my mind, really. I'm struggling to find the right words to describe it. I usually check out all new k-pop releases, but it's been a while since I've heard something like this. The album starts off with the title track, Last Parade. This song won't be everyone's cup of tea, but for me, it clicked on first listen. The choir at the beginning is an intriguing opening, the instrumental scratches my brain, the verses are sharp and the flow is impeccable.
After hearing this song for the first time, I was very interested in the rest of the album. And wow, I was not disappointed. Mi Último Deseo is a super catchy song that incorporates elements of latin music. I love these types of songs in k-pop, and I could definitely see this being played at any party, it gets me so hyped and I just never get tired of listening to it.
The next track, Ball Like That caught my attention because of the lyrics. In my interpretation, the song is about being tired of chasing money, and just wanting to live life instead. I can relate to this so much cause I feel the same way, this song put my thoughts into words perfectly.
Must Be Nice is the song that put this album into the S-tier for me. Oh man, I wasn't prepared for this song at all. I felt some sort of catharsis listening to it. It feels so raw and personal, his voice conveyed so many emotions it brought me to tears. The last time a k-pop song touched me like this was when Deep end by Felix (SKZ) came out. So yeah, Must Be Nice is my newest comfort song, I needed to hear it at this exact state of my life. It hits especially hard when you listen to it at night. Truly an out-of-this-world feel.
Thank You Come Again is the closing track, it's an energetic, totally rap-focused song. It was a bit surprising to hear it after the moving and emotional Must Be Nice, but I really like this one, too. I can see myself playing it all day for the next few weeks, that ~thank youuuu, come again~ part is addictive.
Overall, I feel like this album showed me so many different sides of BamBam. I had no idea that he's such a versatile artist. Also, he's a credited lyricist for all of the songs, which is a huge bonus, I appreciate it when idols write their own lyrics. I recommend this album to everyone who's searching for something new to listen to, I think it's an impressive body of work and I will definitely have it on replay for a long while.
Thank you for reading my post and sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language. Have a nice day:)
