Cell phone question
I’ve been closely following the Karen Read trial and have a lingering question about cell phone records. Given that phones have been destroyed and certain digital evidence is now unattainable, why can’t investigators pull call logs directly from the cell phone providers?
These records should at least show incoming and outgoing calls, timestamps, and possibly even location pings. While they wouldn’t provide the full picture, they could at least establish a verifiable call history for those involved.
Can these records not be subpoenaed? It seems like an obvious step in an investigation, yet I haven’t seen much discussion on whether this was pursued or if there are legal/technical limitations I’m unaware of. Forgive me if this has been addressed before, but I’m genuinely curious—was this an oversight, or is there a specific reason why these logs haven’t been a key part of the case?
