Feedwire - Curate your web, your way

Hello,

After years of development, my app—Feedwire—is finally live! I wanted to share my journey. Feedwire combines feeds and websites together for your interests. Feedwire includes curated content on popular topics or you can create your own collections based on any topic.

A little about me:

I’ve worked on Feedwire on and off for over 3 years, but really pushed hard to get it fully functional over the last year. During the day, I’ve been a full time admin that writes lots of python/php/js scripts for bulk jobs or connecting systems together for over 10 years. With my background and after much research, I decided to use Swift, SwiftUI, Swift Data, and CloudKit (with python scripts) for development.

Why Feedwire:

Over the past 20 years, I’ve seen the internet shift from an open platform of knowledge to a maze of paywalls, intrusive ads, and aggressive cookie pop-ups. It’s frustrating. That’s why I built Feedwire—to bring back the simplicity of consuming information, cutting through the noise to deliver content you actually care about.

The Approval Process:

I was so nervous about the approval process; you hear the horror stories and I just assumed this would be a week or so process. I decided to submit the free and paid version of the app at the same time even though I had heard stories of one getting approved and the other not. Long story short; I submitted on a Friday and the app was approved Sunday. I did get one kick back that I selected Apples terms even though I had my own terms in the app, my fault.

Finally, I can now mark off my bucket list - have an app approved and on the App Store! If you are working on an app that hasn’t released, keep grinding. I am the only person I know that has an app on the App Store and that by itself is pretty cool.

Thanks for reading and if you are interested give Feedwire a try. Any and all feedback is welcome!

Edit: Forgot to mention the app is only available in the U.S. and Canada for now. More countries coming soon!
