Creep gets ejected from the bus today
Was just on the 10 going to Dartmouth and a man was making a young woman feel uncomfortable by his words and being touchy as well. She moved away from him and sat at a different seat and he still wouldn’t stop so a group of grannys intervened. He kept going on and eventually they had to stop the bus and ask him to leave. He kept arguing but finally got ejected 10 minutes later.
He already had a broken hand and I’m not surprised if the remaining one gets broken if this behaviour keeps up. As a straight man, please don’t do this. Learn to read body language while striking up a conversation, and if they seem disinterested please stop talking (like for example, they may just be being polite by engaging in the conversation with you, but if their body language seems closed off it's a no). And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE learn to take rejection gracefully. At this point it would be imperative to apologize and leave, and definitely not to bother them again. I’ve had friends successfully approach strangers on the bus, but this is simply not the way.
If you’re the person who had to experience the creeping today, I’m really sorry you had to go through all that. This experience was probably traumatic and taking an Uber instead is probably not something we can all afford to do everyday. I hope you never have to go through something like this again.
And to the granny gang, my respect goes out to you, you guys are the real Gs!
Edit: For those wondering where I was amidst all of this, I had noise cancelling headphones on and my eyes closed and head turned down to take a nap. Since I was sitting at the very back and this incident was happening in the front I only woke up once I heard everyone yelling. Passengers me filled in on what’s going on (and a recap from those who intervened as well). By then they were already handling the situation well and the bus driver was also telling to the man to get off, and the cops were being called. Didn’t feel it was appropriate to manhandle the situation at that point.
Edit 2: By learning to read body language, I mean it when you’re TALKING to a stranger.
Hope this clarifies everything.
