Another wheelset question
MTBer here trying out gravel and just got a carbon gravel bike. I'm going to be pretty casual on it, not racing but maybe doing some 50 mile events and some group rides. It's fun and the bike is light but the wheelset weighs over 2000g lol. So looking for an upgrade. I like to buy things when they are on sale and so far I have found 3 options:
- FSA SL-K carbon wheelset at 1500g. I'd be paying about $740. Yes it's a "deal" but I'm unclear on how reliable the hubs are. Reviews are sparse.
- I9 1/1 GRCX alloys at about 1700g. I'd be paying $565. Hubs should be great, wheels would probably feel great but that's somewhat heavy for a gravel bike. Does it matter for my kind of riding?
- Sunringle Duroc G30 also at about 1700g, for just $350. These are attractive for the low price, and maybe they are "good enough"? I just don't want to wind up wanting to buy something else in a few months.
I am going back and forth between these three, can't decide. What would you do if you were me...open to recommendations!
