I'm tired of carbrains not even knowing basic traffic rules
Now, traffic rules (and infrastructure) often privilege cars over other road users. But even when that's not the case for once, they just expect that that's the case, or don't care because they just go by law of the strongest.
In my country, cars that turn have to yield to pedestrians who cross the road at intersections and T-junctions. Almost no driver knows or cares about this. I always try to enforce my right of way in these situations (many pedestrians just stop, either because with most drivers not obeying the rule, they don't even know they have the right of way, or, understandably, because they're too scared). I don't run in front of cars, but I step into the road and make it clear that I have no intention to let them go first. Most of the time, they stop and look at me dumbfounded.
Today, I was crossing and this dude was about turn. I walk, he turns. He taps his forehead at me, I shake my head at him. He rolls down his window, red as a beet, and I tell him I have the right of way. He tells me to go to "traffic school", I tell him to read the traffic law, he drives off. He was very much in the wrong but so convinced he was right because they just can't fathom that pedestrians might be prioritized over them, ever.
