Is mold minimization a key to consistency?

I got into disc golf a few years ago now and made big leaps in my game last year. I went from throwing 300 feet at best with a driver to being able to throw certain putters 300 feet (envy) and drivers past the 400 foot mark now on my very best throws. Something I’m finding very frustrating as we go into the new season is my consistency.

Part of the hobby for me is buying a disc every so often and trying it out. I only buy discs that I think will help my game, but I still carry almost exclusively different molds other than 2 envies. For that reason I might not be learning discs as well as I should. I think this habit could potentially be hurting my game, especially now that I want to play more tournaments.

For example, I am thinking of replacing my DD raider and discmania enigma with two destroyers in different states of wear. I think having a consistent mold could make a large difference in my game. Also, destroyers are easy to come by and cheap. I’m attempting to do the same thing with DD truths (one more overstable one straight to understable). Will minimizing my molds make a big difference in my game?
