Got fired yesterday. Is there any hope for finding a new position on short notice?

Because I'm scared to death of this current job market.

About 4 months ago I got the best paid job I've ever had. Except it was mindless drudgery with a 2hr commute and I couldn't handle it, I constantly called off, came in late, or got caught with my phone. I should be too old for this but I also feel almost burnt out from just regular working.

I'm panicking over looking for a new job. Everyone talks about how bad the job market is right now, even for the kinds of jobs I work. I have maybe $3-6k to my name that I can use for the next couple months.

I have no qualifications. The only kinds of jobs I can get are low level service or healthcare work - I'm certified as a sterile processing tech and the first place I'm looking is getting an old job back. "Go back to school" is my parents recommendation but I literally don't know how I would manage it (and I'm not good at anything that pays well).

Anyone in a similar position, or recently got out of one? Is there hope or should I prepare to give up?
