Getting reassessed after private diagnosis

Question - after receiving a diagnosis and treatment plan through Elite Focus (or similar private practice that do not share with GPs), can you later on down the track go through the process of getting a referral from your GP to another psychiatrist to be assessed, if you want to go down a more affordable route? Not sure if I can continue paying the exorbitant costs but it was a lifesaver at the time with minimal wait time.
