When did Singapore television start going down hill?

Hi everyone, I just started watching Emerald Hill, and I got reminded of Little Nonya, which was back in the 2000s-2010s when Singaporeans still watch Mediacorp and local TV was still a thing. Back then Singapore TV was still quite good, but for some reason it started going downhill in recent years. Just wondering when exactly and what went wrong, what are y'all's thoughts?
