Chronic Bartholin's Cyst, Never Forms a Head or Drains?

Many questions about Bartholin's have been posted, but I haven't been able to find any information on my situation.

I've had this cyst constantly for about 7 years. It's never come to a head or showed any signs that it was about to burst and drain.

When it's "dormant" it's about the size of an almond, but I can always feel that it's there. It flares up at least once a year, always related to sex or arousal.

At its biggest, it's been extremely painful and very large. I've been able to treat it with sitz baths, turmeric, and witch hazel, and they work great. When it starts to flare up, I usually take/apply a lot of turmeric and apply a cotton ball soaked with witch hazel, which helps reduce the swelling over a few days.

Has anyone else had this issue? Would it maybe be better to not "treat" it so much when I feel it growing? Is there a way to let it burst and drain? It's really interfering with my sex life, body image, and overall confidence, I'm nervous to have sex because I'm worried that it'll cause a flare-up, and embarrassed to have to tell my partners what's happening when it does.

It's awful that there's so little funding for women's health that all the best advice for treating this is anecdotal and crowd-sourced. I've read that some women are just born with glands that are too small and prone to blockage, but I'm curious if anyone knows any other factors that play into these forming.

It's starting to flare up again, and I just don't know what to do, I'm exhausted and would love even one year free of this.

Any and all advice would be appreciated, thank you!
