IS IT WORTH BUYING AN IPAD?

I have seen a lot of students using ipad for studying, ie (note taking etc. ) i personally like taking notes on notebook like old school, but with that i takes too much time and things to write where i loose my motivation. (not complaining) just wanted to ask if buying an ipad really a game changer?
