Turning down a client?
Hey guys! Need some advice on how to turn down a client, or to be told I should just suck it up and do the tattoo LOL. Whatever you think you’d do in this situation.
This client reached out to me about 3 months ago asking to book, and since I’m usually booked up about 2-3ish months in advance I didn’t have time but told him to reach out again in December, when I’d start booking for the new year, since it sounded like our schedules would line up to do his fairly large tattoo idea. I found his response to be pretty pushy and passive aggressive, trying to convince me to book him in when he was free that month despite me telling him I had no time. He emailed again a week later and was once again pretty rude and trying to get me to book him in on his schedule (I still had no time). Obviously I’m pretty put off by this, and about a week ago he’s passive aggressively commented on my posts and emailed me trying to get an appointment (I was hoping he’d drop it tbh but I think if I’m going to avoid booking with him I’ll have to be direct about it).
The other thing that gives me pause is he gave me his twitter, and I did check it to find his first post talking about wanting to fuck and breed trans men. You can post whatever you want, not really my business, but I am a trans man and the tattoo he wants is on his hip going down/wrapping around his thigh, so I will be working with him being fairly exposed (or almost exposed) to me for several appointments and idk how comfortable I feel with that. Maybe thats why he’s been so pushy, but maybe I’m overthinking it. I’ve been sexually harassed while tattooing someone a few times this year and am a bit wary of it happening again.
What would you do in my shoes? Should I put my customer service hat on and take the appointment? Am I justified turning him down? Help lol
