Thank you all and good bye!
Sharing my experience with Straterra in the event it helps someone out. I was diagnosed later in life and after a year and a half on Vyvanse, I decided to make the jump to Straterra due to my anxiety being out of control.
My sister had great success with Straterra and after doing some research and reading everything in this sub and r/adhd, I decided to take the plunge.
But my god the side-effects are unbearable, at first I thought it was just the ramp up but after 6 months I’m still struggling with: - Severe depression - Lack of any motivation or excitement - Constipation - Blurred eye sight (had to go up a prescription) - Crazy heart rate (gave up my training for a half marathon as my HR would go to 200 after a 5 minute jog, sometimes my resting would spike to 130 for hours) - Absolutely no sex drive - Extreme temper - Disgusting sweatiness after even a light walk. - Horrible sleep, getting 4-6 hours a night at best.
So after all that fun, I’m done and starting back on Vyvanse and eventually adding in an anti-anxiety (any recommendations would be great).
This sub was extremely helpful in the research process and making sure I wasn’t losing it when I was questioning all my side/effects so a massive THANK YOU to this sub! While Straterra wasn’t the one for me, I’m happy it’s working for so many of y’all.
Off to r/Vyvanse I go, may your focus be high and side-effects low.
