can't access lovestruck heart bed

i recently got lovestruck and made a room with the new heart bed, but i can't get two sims in it until ALL the other furniture in the room is gone. i have tried everything; re-made it with moveobjects off, removed the low hanging lights, changed the sizes of the other stuff, and nothing works until the heart bed is the only item left in the room. why the hell my sims wont use it otherwise? they had plenty of space to cross to either side of it, and i know how much i can scoot things until they become unusable/block the space. long time sims player and i've never seen this happen before.
