12 week scan :)

We had our 12 week scan this morning, and oh my god the wait has been torture. We haven’t done any early private scans and felt a bit like we’re the only ones in the world who hadn’t already seen a heartbeat.

We were so so so nervous, bracing ourselves for the worst news. But our little wiggler was in there, curled up, jumping around, yawning, basically looking tiny and perfect. They wouldn’t get off their bum to cooperate with the sonographer which meant I had to get in bridge and shimmy my hips a lot to try flip the little critter.

We both cried in the corridor after as we were so relieved and giddy to see our baby. Honestly it was so surreal. Went and bought it a little outfit, and by the time we got home had the results of our NT screening, less in 1 in 16000 chance of one of the big 3 chromosomal disorders.

Just wanted to share some happy news as I know there’s a lot on Reddit to increase anxiety.
