Best versatile stand alone plugin

I am looking to get my first plugin, and I'm looking for something that has metal effects and distortion, specifically the Gojira X catches my eye, but does this also have good clean tones? I am brand new to digital amps and plugins, and their website is very helpful but I'm just looking for some opinions. Thanks in advance!
