Convert 110v outlet to 220v?
I'm going electric!
Rather than brew in my garage (where my electrical panel is), I have a space I would love to dedicate to my brewery. However, it has no 220v outlet.
I promise I will have an electrician do the actual work, but I wanted to know if it's possible to use existing wiring and convert it to 220v? Logically, I think you might need a lower gauge wire for 220v, but I also think the pre-existing 110v could be enough to hook up to a new breaker, swap out the outlet, and call it a day!
Any thoughts?
Edit: this topic struck a nerve! I will look into running a new line. If it is too much for such a long run, I'll just brew in the garage, like a peasant!
Thanks for all the inputs, I learned a lot!
