Y’all know Stolas is an unreliable narrator, right?
We've seen time and time again that Stolas doesn't understand how his actions can hurt others. He doesn't realize that even if it's unintentional, what he does negatively affects the people around him. We've witnessed this in his relationship with Octavia and especially with his relationship with Blitzø.
So why is it that when he claims to be the perfect husband, we suddenly believe him, even though we know he's a canonical unreliable narrator? The only reason we never see him treating Stella poorly is likely due to us only seeing Stella through his eyes, where she's portrayed as loud, brash, and mean.
Just because Stella is a bad person doesn't automatically make Stolas a good one. Bad people can be victims.
