Becoming a female diesel tech (UK)
Hey everyone! So I’m currently trying to decide whether doing a diesel technician apprenticeship is a good idea for me when I graduate. I’m currently in 2nd year (of 3) of a biological sciences degree however I just really don’t enjoy all of the writing and lab reports and stuff. I’d love a more hands on job. I’ve been working on cars as long as I can remember with my parents, I have a Subaru and so does my partner and I’m always working on that. I looked at being a light vehicle mechanic but the pay is terrible here at the moment and not a lot of opportunities to move upwards. So just wanted to hear people’s opinions on being a woman in the industry and if it’s worth it? (I’m 5’3 if that makes any difference, I know there’s a lot of heavy lifting lol) TIA
