Severance on Chromecast via Prime has black bar on bottom of screen

Strange issue here, wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

Apple TV is historically incompatible with Chromecast because Apple no like Google. But, when Prime added Severance, I added Apple TV to my Prime subscription and voila! Severance worked on Chromecast just fine.

Of course, last night for the finale, it stopped working. The show would cast properly, but with the bottom half of the screen under a black bar.

Every other app works fine. Other shows on movies on Prime work fine. Even Apple TV content via Prime work. It’s literally just severance.

It’s not a TV issue because when you adjust the volume during Severance, the volume bar at the bottom of the screen shows. Just not the show itself.

Such a strange issue. Wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar?

Update: still not fixed. Simultaneously happy & sad to see so many others having the same issue. It’s obviously something happening either on prime or apple’s side. To be completely honest, I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if Apple did this intentionally because I’m sure they don’t like the fact that I’m watching this on a google device. But who knows. Best we can do is submit reports to prime, even though most of their customer service is automated, maybe if we all tell them, something will get fixed. Either that or we all request refunds for apple via prime bc we’re not able to watch the show we paid for.

In the meantime, I will just watch severance on my windows pc. Take that, apple.
