Why wasn’t I told the Papacy was in scripture?

So Protestant teen here. And I’m reading scripture and first in Matthew in talks about Peter and his key to the kingdom and then Peter’s role with James and how people took Peter serious. Like how can us Protestant’s say he’s not important when Christ said? And something I noticed it’s probably been said before but Christ renames Simon to Peter which his names means rock. The point of this post is like I feel like a fool lol and I was wondering my church hasn’t said this or my family or anyone
