A little problem won’t hinder the show! …Right?

The Circus was doing good, and Erin got quite a lot of money already. Not that it mattered, like the cheers she got as she currently retreated from her show on the path.

In the shadows, she saw kids and adults alike laughing, walking lonely amidst the crowd. It brought a smile to her face, seeing her plan succeed. Though she felt a kind of… disturbance?

One cashier disappeared, together with their both. But it was still night, her ability was still active. It made no sense. Her auntie said this place was weird, but stopping her ability? She couldn’t let this stop.

When she got close, it all felt faint, vaguely distant. Onlookers, mouth agape at her and the scene, held their distance. She stood out like a sore thumb, but with no show. So how about she creates one?

„My dear guests, if you would check your pockets, please?“

Most were confused, but obliged her request. Out of their coats, pants and dresses, cards were drawn, black and white with silver accents. With a snap, they started flowing, turning into birds.

„Wonderful, no? But I think they have another job to do.“

The birds accumulated to a giant whirl of feathers, before they disappeared, leaving the cashier and their booth back to how they were. The audience cheered, and she took her leave with a solemn expression.

She didn’t repair the booth, simply an illusion. Until the problem was fixed, she had to manually uphold it. If this would spread… She stopped, hiding behind a tent containing a land of ice. All would be fine, right?

Slipping into civilian wear, she entered the tent, hoping to quiet her worries and find someone who could maybe be ready for a snowball fight…

(Any idea how it happened?)
