Help, I've hit a wall and nothing sounds right :(
Hello all. I have just started exploring this awesome world of mixing/dj'ing (about a month and a half) and i've hit a bit of a wall and could really use some advice.
I really want to dive into Drum and Bass as a genre, but I'm finding it difficult as a beginner. I started learning using a couple house and edm songs as its relatively easy to mix and I can understand the structure of the music as its usually pretty simple. I found beat matching and phrase mixing fun and understood what I need to look out for. I've had some struggles with queue points (where to put them, how to use them effectively etc) but I thought I had the general Idea.
Then I tried to use what I knew with DnB and it went so wrong. I'm practising with a few songs I like but nothing sounds right (not sure if its the key) and I'm especially struggling to figure out what points in each song to mix in and out of.
I wanna start from scratch and learn the basics again as I feel like I'm actually losing knowledge the more i get wrong. Does anyone have tips on practising methods/specific DnB practising advice or just general help that a newbie like me can use.
Thanks in advance x
